The ruling on making du'a' and seeking mercy for one who slaughters for the jinn after his death

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A man died while he was slaughtering for the jinn. Should the funeral prayer be performed for him, and should du'a' be made for him for mercy?

Answer:
No, this is a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah). The funeral prayer is not performed for him, he is not washed, and he is not buried with the Muslims. The one who slaughters for the jinn, or calls upon the awliya (close friends of Allah), or the people of the graves, seeking their aid, or makes vows to them, this is major shirk (associating partners with Allah). This is the religion of the jahiliyyah (the pre-Islamic age of ignorance), the religion of Abu Jahl.
