The claim of women’s participation with men in various aspects of life

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Some of those who claim to renew the religion hold that the original principle in Islam is the participation of women, and their involvement in society and in various aspects of political and economic life. They argue that the principle of blocking the means to harm should not prevent this original principle. They say that the reason women are inferior to men is the reason for the impurity of society, and that fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) is the criterion for the ruling on free mixing of men and women, or its absence. We ask for your comment on this opinion?

Answer:
They are callers to corruption and callers to free mixing of men and women. There are many of them in newspapers, radio stations, and elsewhere. One should not be deceived by them. The woman has a full occupation. She has work in her home with her husband and with her children. She has work in her school, in learning and teaching. She has work in the hospital, in medicine and nursing for women. She has much work; she is not idle. But the callers to corruption lie. Their claim that half of society is idle is a form of deception and fraud, and a call to corruption.
And who says that she is idle! She was not idle in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). There was no radio, no display of adornment, and no corruption. She was occupied in her home preparing food, raising children, caring for children, learning her religion, and understanding her religion, among other things. So she is not idle. She has her work, and the man has his work.
She has her work in her home, raising her children, and serving her husband. She has her work in learning and teaching, and in participating in teaching girls and women and learning. She has her work in other things, such as women’s medicine, among other things. So she must work within the limits of her domain, within the limits of what is permissible for her. As for being a secretary to a man, or being close to him in his work, so that he can approach her... this leads to corruption. This is what is good in the eyes of the callers to corruption and the callers to free mixing of men and women. They are not satisfied unless the woman is like the man with him in everything, so that he is able to commit immorality with her wherever he is, and so that he neglects his wife and neglects his home—may Allah keep us safe—and there is no power and no strength except with Allah.

Question: The right of the woman in the general picture, and how to achieve it?

Answer: Her right is to learn her religion.
