The Islamic Alternative to Harmful Media

Question:
A group of people has realized the harms of the media, especially what falls under trivial stimulants or distractions, but O Shaykh, what is the alternative for us and for this group? And why is there not a complete reform in the way topics are published so that they serve Islam?

Answer:
The alternative exists, but we ask Allah to make it easy for whoever places it in its proper place in the manner that it should be, and in the manner that benefits people. So, praise be to Allah, there are many programs that benefit people, and the field is wide in Islamic history, in the Prophet’s biography, in what the Muslim needs in his day and night, in the rulings of the Shari'ah, in acts of worship and transactions, and so on, in attractive and clear forms, and in useful and clear methods.
And so, regarding industries and what Muslims need, all of this can have many programs placed in it that take the place of the other programs that contain harm. And if people intend reform and exert effort in seeking reform, Allah will make their affair easy and help them, as He said: : [Al-Talaq:2] [Al-Talaq:4] [Al-Anfal:29]. So the important thing is the intention of reform, the care for it, and doing what is possible, and through that all good is attained.
