Ruling on touching the mushaf without wudu'

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am a Quran teacher in one of the schools. Is it obligatory for the students to perform wudu' before touching the mushaf, or during the Quran class?

Answer:
Yes, yes, the students must perform wudu' to touch the mushaf. This is the position of the majority of scholars, the four Imams and others. There is a hadith from 'Amr ibn Hazm that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wrote to the people of Yemen: "Let no one touch the Quran except in a state of purity." The Companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) issued a ruling to this effect and ordered wudu' for touching the Quran. So if the boys want to touch the mushaf, they must perform wudu'.

Question : But if the boys go out to perform wudu', the time allotted for the class will be over, because there are thirty or forty students.

Answer: They should perform wudu' before the class, before it starts. They should prepare; allow them to do so, give them the opportunity. The student should not come from his home unless he is ready to perform wudu'.
