Introduction by one of the students containing praise of the Shaykh, and the Shaykh, in his humility, denies it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh: Due to his saying (peace be upon him):
How is it that I see you in separate groups? !
Sunan Abi Dawud 4823Sahih (Al-Albani)
, and another hadith and other hadiths; perhaps when the collection is complete, it would be good to present them to the listeners, if Allah wills. Please, Abu 'Abdullah.
The student: We seek His help and seek His forgiveness, and we seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our own souls and from the badness of our deeds. Whoever Allah guides, no one can mislead, and whoever He misleads, no one can guide. And I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger,
O you who have believed, fear Allah as He should be feared and do not die except as Muslims [in submission to Him].
[Ali 'Imran 3:102]
,
O mankind, fear your Lord, who created you from one soul and created from it its mate and dispersed from both of them many men and women. And fear Allah, through whom you ask one another, and the wombs. Indeed Allah is ever, over you, an Observer.
[An-Nisa 4:1]
,
(70) O you who have believed, fear Allah and speak words of appropriate justice. (71) He will [then] amend for you your deeds and forgive you your sins. And whoever obeys Allah and His Messenger has certainly attained a great attainment.
[Al-Ahzab 33:70-71]
. As for what follows:
Indeed, the truest speech is the Book of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him), and the worst of matters are their innovations, and every innovation is a religious innovation, and every religious innovation is misguidance, and every misguidance is in the Fire.
My brothers, this is a rare opportunity that presents itself for us to meet in such a gathering, and we are upon a methodology in the truth, if Allah wills. We do not desire what people desire with their knowledge, but rather we desire the good of this world and the Hereafter, which brings us closer to Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He), and brings us near to His Paradise, and grants us His reward, if Allah wills, in the Hereafter, which is the true life, as Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) said, if only they would use their reason. From this, I say: the presence of our Shaykh in a country—I do not say that we are close to him, but even if he were in a vast continent far from us, and he were among people other than the people of our country or people from other countries, it would be fitting for them to strive to reach him, to draw from his knowledge, and to benefit from what Allah has bestowed upon him of the blessing of the pure Sunnah, of which we do not know in our time who has mastered it and encompassed knowledge of the chains of the men and the ability to distinguish the weak from the good and the authentic, and knowledge of the ranks of the hadith, high and low, and other sciences of the pure Sunnah, which we know from our Shaykh, and praise be to Allah. If people from afar disdain the knowledgeThe Shaykh : not because it is merely knowledge, but because they are too weak to carry this knowledge in their minds and fall prey to it in the truth, then we, praise be to Allah by whose grace good deeds are completed, do not know of ourselves except that we love the truth and strive for it, and we exert ourselves as much as we can in the path of reaching it, acting upon it, and verifying it. And if our Shaykh, may Allah reward him with good and prolong his life and bless his effort and benefit us and the Muslims in general, is present among us in this good country, if Allah wills, and if that is the case, then we should be the most eager to acquire what we are able to and what our minds and hearts can both bear. And I have said repeatedly and over and over that the presenceThe Shaykh : of Muhammad al-Nasir al-Albani in Jordan is a blessing that Allah has bestowed upon Jordan and its people. So happy for us, the people of Jordan, is what Allah has bestowed upon us of the presence of our Shaykh, our teacher, our beloved, and our leader, and the leader of the scholars in our time. We do not exaggerate in this, nor do we go beyond the truth; rather, we fall short of it and do not say more, but we diminishThe Shaykh : his right if we say less than that, and he is worthy of more and more than what I have mentioned. People are known by their effects, and our Shaykh, may Allah preserve him, prolong his life, extend his lifespan, and bless his effort, is who he is, as we know and as people know about him. So we ask Allah (Blessed and Exalted is He) to increase our adherence to the Sunnah and our striving to act upon it, and to make our hearts connected to the Sunnah of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and its means, and one of the greatest of its means in our time is our Shaykh, may Allah preserve him and protect him. And I would like to say here to my brothers that our Shaykh, in these days and before these days for a period that is not short, is occupied with the vast wealth of knowledge he possesses, bringing out its treasures and presenting them to the Muslims everywhere on earth, and even to non-Muslims. That is because this knowledge, which is unique in this time, is possessed by few, and those striving for it are few, and those making progress toward it are few. So we ask Allah to make us among those few who strive for those few and discipline themselves to the struggle of those few, if Allah wills. From this, I say: our eagerness to take what we take is for only one thing, which is that we know that this knowledge is what straightens the minds, and it is what steadies the hearts, and it is what causes knowledge to grow in the breasts, and it is what makes a person able to distinguish the truth from falsehood, and the paths of guidance become clear to him, and he knows thereby the steps of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to follow his path after him. Perhaps we have in this hadith, if our Shaykh permits us to cite a hadith before him, which is
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), when he asked his companions: Which of the believers is the most amazing? They said: The prophets. He said: What is there for them not to believe while revelation is being sent down to them? They said: We.
. First, he said: the angels,
They said: The angels. He said: What is there for them not to believe while they are with their Lord? Then they said: The prophets. He said: What is there for them not to believe while revelation is being sent down to them? Then they said: We, O Messenger of Allah. He said: What is there for you not to believe while I am among you or with you? The most amazing people in faith are a group who will come after you, who believe in what is in these scrolls.
. So we ask Allah to make us among them. And now I leave the speech or the place to our Shaykh and our teacher, perhaps he will return to us from what Allah has bestowed upon him, and let us be, in truth and sincerity, if Allah wills, students of good, guidance, and dutifulness. So may Allah reward you with good for us.

The Shaykh: May Allah bless you all. I have nothing to say in the face of this praise which I do not deserve, and we are far below what the honorable professor Abu Malik says, by many stages. But his good opinion of this poor slave, who is in need of his Lord's mercy, is what encourages and drives him to such sweet praise which I do not deserve.
And therefore, on this occasion, I have nothing to do but to follow the greatest man of the righteous predecessors after the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), who is Abu Bakr al-Siddiq, who used to say, while hearing less than this sweet praise from some of them about him:
Do not take me to task for what they say and forgive me for what they do not know
Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 761
. This is all that I can say on this occasion.
The student : May Allah reward you with good.

The Shaykh: And actions are by intentions, and there is no doubt or ambiguity that the intention of our honorable professor Abu Malik is such that no bad opinion is formed of it at all. And although we do not desire such praise, because we know that it is slaughter, as he (peace be upon him) said, we fear for ourselves as we fear for others, completely. But as we said:
The reward of deeds depends upon the intentions and every person will get the reward according to what he has intended.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1
.
