I suffered a burn on my finger while in a state of wudu, so I applied a bandage for the wound, then performed wudu for the remaining prayers for about five days, wiping over it.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : May Allah reward you with good. This questioner says: I suffered a burn on my finger while in a state of wudu, so I applied a bandage for the wound, then performed wudu for the remaining prayers for about five days, wiping over the bandage only, without the water touching the wound. Is my action correct?

The Shaykh : The action is correct. This is because if a person has a bandage on a wound, or a cast on a fracture, or something similar, he wipes over all of it until it heals. It is not required that he put it on while in a state of purity, because there is no evidence requiring that it be put on while in a state of purity. This is unlike socks and leather socks, where one does not wipe over them unless he put them on while in a state of purity.
