The questioner : Some women are lax about covering their faces in front of their husband's brothers on the pretext that they live with them. What is your guidance, may you be rewarded?
The Shaykh : We advise these women to fear Allah the Exalted and not to uncover their faces to the husband's relatives except to the mahram, such as the husband's son and the husband's father. As for the husband's relatives other than these sons and fathers, it is obligatory for her to cover her face from them, just as she covers it from the men in the market. And what contradicts custom, people reject it at first, then they gradually become accustomed to it, and the rejection disappears.
