Caring for the wife, looking after her, and helping her with treatment in case of illness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
May Allah guide you, O Shaykh. This is a woman asking, and she says that she is a woman afflicted with cancer—may Allah protect us and you. She says, “I do not feel any support from my husband, and I want to seek treatment and ruqyah, but he does not support me or help me in that.” Her question is: Is it permissible for me to ask for divorce so that I can seek treatment for myself? And is it permissible for me to travel without his permission for the sake of my treatment and ruqyah?

Answer:
She should strive for reconciliation with her husband and ask him to make the efforts for her cure. If he does not do so, she may go with one of her relatives, and she has the right to do so. Her husband has no right to prevent her from that, because this is a matter of dire necessity, and he cannot stop her from it.
