Does a person with a debt have to perform Hajj?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Does a person with a debt have to perform Hajj?

Answer:
If he has money that is sufficient to cover the debt and the expenses of Hajj, then Hajj is obligatory for him as a fard. Hajj is obligatory for him as a fard. But if the money he has is only sufficient to pay off the debt or part of it, then he does not have to perform Hajj. Allah the Exalted said: (And Hajj to the House is obligatory for people who are able to undertake the journey to it). The one who has a debt that does not allow for the expenses of Hajj and paying off the debt, this person is not able. He starts with the debt, because the rights of people are based on strictness, and the rights of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, are based on leniency.
