Classifying students of knowledge into sects and groups

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
As you know, in recent times, the classification of students of knowledge into sects and groups has spread. What is your advice?

Answer:
Answer: It is not permissible to divide and form factions. The Muslims are one community, and praise be to Allah. (Indeed, this is your community, one community, and I am your Lord, so worship Me), (And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided), (And do not be like those who became divided and differed after the clear proofs had come to them; for those will have a great punishment), (And do not dispute, lest you fail and your power be lost; and be patient). If a disagreement occurs, it is referred back to the Book and the Sunnah. (So if you disagree about anything, refer it to Allah and the Messenger, if you should believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is the best in outcome and best in interpretation). We do not remain in disagreement, division, and factionalism. The religion forbids this, and it causes negative effects. It is necessary for the unity of the Muslims, understanding, and proceeding on one path, so that the community has dignity and cooperation among them, and love spreads among them. For division causes conflict, and it may even lead to fighting. (And if Allah had willed, they would not have fought one another after the clear proofs had come to them, but they differed). Disagreement sometimes leads to the carrying of weapons among Muslims. Therefore, disagreement is not permissible. As for scholarly disagreement in jurisprudential issues, this is possible according to independent legal reasoning. But disagreement among people and dividing into groups is not permissible. Yes.
