She did not fast in her youth out of ignorance, and today she is advanced in age

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
In my youth, I did not fast because I was ignorant of the obligation of fasting, and we were in the desert. The period during which I did not fast was twenty-four months, and I am now advanced in age. What should I do?

Answer:
If you are able to make up the missed fasts, it is obligatory for you to make them up in installments according to your ability until you have completed them. However, if you are unable to make them up due to old age or a chronic illness, you must feed one poor person for every day.
