Explaining what is obligatory upon one who neglected several months of fasting due to ignorance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q399: The questioner says: In my youth, I did not fast out of my ignorance of the obligation of fasting, and we were in the desert. The period I did not fast was twenty-four months, and I am now old in age, so what should I do?
A399: If you are able to make up the fasts, it is obligatory for you to make them up in installments, according to your ability, until you are done with them. As for if you are not able to make up the fasts due to old age or a chronic illness, then you feed one poor person for every day.
