Attacks on mosques and targeting of worshippers.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The city of Najran in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia witnessed an attack on one of its mosques, targeting the worshippers. What is your comment on such an incident, and your guidance to the society, its individuals and groups?

Answer:
Answer: This is a misguided group—may Allah protect us from them—and they claim that they forbid what is wrong and that they are a Muslim group, but in reality, they are a misguided group that makes lawful the sanctities of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) and the prohibitions of Allah. The worshippers and the mosque, even the Qur'ans, have suffered from them in the houses of Allah (Mighty and Majestic). Therefore, this is a misguided group, and it is obligatory for Muslims to advise one another to take hold of them and restrain their evil from the Muslims. They should cooperate in this, for every Muslim is responsible. So, if one sees someone of this type who follows the path of the Khawarij, he must report them, they must be taken into custody, and the houses of Allah (Mighty and Majestic) must be protected from them. This is the duty of everyone. Otherwise, if people remain silent about them and leave the responsibility to others, saying, "We are not obligated; for example, the security forces [are responsible]," yes, cooperate with the security forces and report them. These are enemies of the Muslims. How can they claim to be Muslims while they make lawful the houses of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), make lawful the worshippers, and make lawful the souls that Allah has forbidden to be killed, which are the souls of the believers, as Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: "And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hellfire, to abide therein forever, and the anger of Allah and His curse are upon him, and He has prepared for him a great punishment." They have violated sanctities: the sanctity of the Muslim's blood, the sanctity of the mosque, and the sanctity of the Qur'ans. Even the Qur'ans have suffered what they suffered from them. We ask Allah for well-being.
