Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
I am a teacher, and praise be to Allah, and I am the third of my siblings. However, I was short with my mother and father during their lifetimes, and suddenly they died and passed into the mercy of Allah, Mighty and Majestic. I was in a state of estrangement between them. She says now that I am regretful. What should I do toward my father and mother, and what are the deeds that reach them?

Answer:
Answer: You must seek forgiveness for them, make du'a' for them, and do so frequently. Also, give sadaqah on their behalf; give charity on their behalf. And be dutiful to them by paying off any debts they had on their behalf; this is part of being dutiful to them.
