Question:
This questioner says: O honorable Shaykh, what is meant by reviewing the Qur'an, what is the correct method for completing a recitation, and how should one act upon the Qur'an and apply it?

Answer:
Answer: The Qur'an is a great book, the speech of the Lord of the Worlds. One reviews it by reading it frequently, as much as possible, especially if he has memorized it, so that his memorization is not lost. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Review this Qur'an, for it is more likely to slip away than camels from their ropes." So the Muslim should take care of the Qur'an, whether he reads it from the mushaf or from memory. It is not permissible for a month to pass without him completing the recitation of the Qur'an at least once a month. This is a matter of benefit and good for him. As for completing the recitation, when he finishes reading and reaches the end of the last surah of the Qur'an, he should supplicate after finishing, supplicating with whatever supplications Allah has made easy for him.
