Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We interpret the noble verse in the statement of the Truth, Blessed and Exalted is He, in Surat al-Isra. I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan: {And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and on the sea and provided for them from the good things and preferred them over many of those We created with [preferential] preference} [al-Isra 70]

Answer:
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. And may Allah send prayers and peace upon our Prophet Muhammad, and upon his family and all his Companions. In this noble verse, Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, informs of His honoring of the children of Adam. This indicates the nobility of this type of creation, for Allah, Glorified is He, granted them intellects and distinguished them from the creatures that do not have intellect. He gave them, Glorified and Exalted is He, of His blessings what they use to assist in the worship for which He created them. He said, Glorified is He: {And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me} [al-Dhariyat 56]. And He said, the Exalted: {O mankind, worship your Lord, who created you and those before you, that you may become righteous} [al-Baqarah 21]. Allah created them for His worship, and He guaranteed their provision. {I do not want from them any provision nor do I want them to feed Me} [al-Dhariyat 57]. Their worship of Allah, Glorified is He, is an honor for them, and its benefit is for them as well, because it connects them to Allah, Mighty and Majestic. It brings them, may Allah be pleased with them, blessings, and it brings them favors. Higher than that, it becomes a cause for their entering Paradise. So Allah honored the children of Adam in what He singled them out for, in that He created them for His worship, Glorified and Exalted is He, and He guaranteed their provision. {I do not want from them any provision nor do I want them to feed Me}. And their worship of Allah is an honor for them, and its benefit returns to them. As for Allah, Exalted and Majestic is He, the obedience of the obedient does not benefit Him, and the disobedience of the disobedient does not harm Him. Rather, the effect of that returns to them, either as good or as evil. And this is from the favor of Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He, that Allah honored the children of Adam over the rest of the creatures by what He imposed upon them of the obligatory worship of Allah, Glorified is He, so that He may continue for them the honor in this world and the Hereafter. Then He said, Exalted and Majestic is He: {And carried them on the land and on the sea}. Allah, Glorified is He, carried them in their travels and journeys on comfortable means of transport that carry their burdens and which they ride in their travels. So on the land, Allah made available for them what is known in every age of riding camels and horses. Then after that, riding cars and airplanes became established, as He said, the Exalted: {And horses, mules and donkeys that you may ride and as [an] adornment. And He creates what you do not know} [al-Nahl 8]. And now people ride cars and airplanes. This is on the land. And on the sea, He made available for them ships and vessels that carry them on the surface of the water and do not sink in the water, but rather they move on the water. And this is from the making available by Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He: {And carried them on the land and on the sea}. {And provided for them from the good things}. This means from the lawful, good things that nourish them with good nourishment, good sustenance, and strengthen them for the worship of Allah and the gratitude to Allah, Glorified and Exalted is He. He made the good things lawful for them and forbade the bad things. He said, Exalted and Majestic is He: {O mankind, eat from what is on the earth lawful and good and do not follow the footsteps of the Shaytan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy} [al-Baqarah 169]. He said, Glorified and Exalted is He: {O you who have believed, eat from the good things that We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is Him you worship. He has only forbidden to you carrion and blood and the flesh of swine and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah} [al-Baqarah 172]. He did not forbid them except the bad things. He made the good things lawful for them and forbade the bad things. {And provided for them from the good things}. And He commanded them to eat from them and enjoy them. And included in that is that He forbade them the bad things that harm them, that nourish them with bad nourishment. {And provided for them from the good things}. Then He said: {And preferred them over many of those We created with [preferential] preference}. Allah preferred them with intellects. Allah preferred them with the nobility of servitude to Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He. Allah preferred them with many things over the rest of the creatures. All the creatures are made available for them. {He has created for you all that is on the earth} [al-Baqarah 29]. And Allah made everything in all the creatures for the benefits of the children of Adam. From it they eat and enjoy. {And preferred them over many of those We created with [preferential] preference}. Over many of the creatures.
