The ruling on fasting the days of the week other than Thursday and Friday

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q549: The questioner says: I love fasting as a means of drawing near to Allah. If I were to fast, for example, the days of the week other than Thursday and Friday, is that permissible?
A549: The best fasting is the fasting of the days for which the Shari'ah has prescribed fasting, such as: fasting the six days of Shawwal, fasting Monday and Thursday of every week, fasting three days of every month, fasting the Day of 'Arafah for one who is not performing Hajj, fasting the Day of 'Ashura on the tenth day of the month of Muharram, along with fasting the day before it or the day after it, likewise fasting most of the sacred month. After that, if he desires to fast, he should fast one day and break the fast the next day; this is the fasting of Dawud (peace be upon him).
