The Ruling on the Fasting of a False Witness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q364: The questioner asks: What is the ruling on the fasting of a false witness during the day in Ramadan, and does the sin increase in the month of Ramadan?
A364: False testimony is forbidden, and it is a major sin among the major sins, indeed one of the greatest of major sins. We ask Allah for safety from it. It is among the greatest of major sins. Whoever does this must repent to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). If a judicial ruling was based on his testimony, he must alert the judge to this so that he may rectify the ruling he issued based on this testimony.
