The Meaning of the Hadith: “I Have Been Commanded to Prostrate on Seven Bones”

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q195: The questioner says: It is mentioned in the hadith:
I have been commanded to prostrate on seven bones.أمرت أن أسجد على سبعة أعظم
Sunan Ibn Majah 883Sahih (Darussalam)
What are these seven bones? And if one does not prostrate on them, is his prayer valid?

A195: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) specified the seven bones in the hadith: the forehead, and he pointed to his nose, the two hands, the two knees, and the tips of the two feet. These are the seven limbs. If one lifts one of them during all the prostrations for a valid excuse, there is no harm, and his prayer is valid. However, if he lifts it without a valid excuse, his prayer is not valid, because he did not perform the prostration prescribed by the Shari'ah.
