The ruling on the belief that visiting the Prophet's Mosque is a condition for the obligatory Hajj

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q168: The questioner says: Some people believe that visiting the Noble Prophet's Mosque is connected to Hajj, and that Hajj is not complete without it?
A168: This is based on custom, for many pilgrims, especially when they come from far away or from outside the country, visit the Prophet's Mosque to pray in it, and then greet the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) following that. This is what many people coming from outside the Kingdom do. Also, some people think that visiting the Prophet's Mosque is connected to Hajj, but that is not the case. However, visiting the Prophet's Mosque is an independent act of worship, and it has no specific time; rather, one may visit the Prophet's Mosque at any time, before or after Hajj, or at any time whatsoever. And whoever performs Hajj and does not visit the Prophet's Mosque, his Hajj is complete.
