Some insertion of the penis during the day in Ramadan, believing it is not intercourse
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20412 )
Q1: I was in the early days of marriage, after the Fajr prayer in Ramadan, engaging in light foreplay with my wife, and I would insert my penis into her vagina to the extent of half the penis, with her consent, of course. However, no ejaculation occurred, but we felt the pleasure of desire. This happened several times, a number I do not remember, but approximately three or four times. What is the ruling on this, and what should I do, may Allah preserve you?
A1: If the situation is as you described in your question, then it is obligatory for you to pay the expiation for intercourse during the day in Ramadan. If the intercourse occurred on separate days, you must pay a separate expiation for each instance of intercourse, corresponding to the number of days on which intercourse took place, along with making up the fasts for those days. However, if the intercourse occurred repeatedly on a single day and you did not pay the expiation for the first instance: then one expiation suffices for all of it, along with making up the fast for that
day on which the intercourse occurred. Inserting the penis, or part of it, into a woman’s vagina invalidates the fast and necessitates expiation, even if ejaculation does not occur. Your wife is also obligated to pay the same expiation and make up the fasts due to her consent. The expiation is: freeing a believing slave. If you do not find one or are unable to do so, it is obligatory for you to fast two consecutive months, sixty days. If you are unable to do so due to illness or old age, then you must feed sixty poor people, giving each poor person half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the local staple food, which is the amount of one and a half kilograms, along with repentance to Allah. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
