Q2: A man masturbated with his hand during the day in Ramadan and is unable to free a slave, or fast two consecutive months, or give charity to sixty poor people, and he has done this more than once during the day in Ramadan. What is the ruling?
A2: One who masturbates with his hand while fasting has committed a forbidden act and his fast is invalid, so he must repent to Allah the Exalted and make up that day, and he owes no expiation; because the expiation is specific to intercourse, and this is not intercourse. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
