Emission due to thinking

Fatwa number ( 15867 )
Q: I have fallen into a religiously prohibited act, and I hope to Allah, Mighty and Majestic, that I will find a solution to my problem with your eminence. I am a young man experiencing the desires of youth, and during the month of Ramadan, Satan isolated me and I emitted semen after I imagined a woman in front of me. This happened during the day while I was fasting, even though I am not married. I am on the verge of my final exams for the academic year, and I am still a university student. I hope to Allah, the Most High, the Almighty, that I will find a solution to this problem. What should I do, and what is the solution to my problem? Do I have to make up the fast and pay expiation, or what? I ask for a response, and may Allah reward you with good.
A: If the emission from you during the day of fasting was merely due to thinking, such that you imagined a woman in front of you, then you owe nothing. However, you should drive away these thoughts and strive to chaste yourself through marriage; for Allah, Mighty and Majestic, said:[Al-Baqarah 2:286] the verse. And it is authentic from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: Al-Mustadrak lil-Hakim 48:41 And by the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Bulugh al-Maram 8:133 agreed upon for its authenticity.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.

Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred.
