Ruling on a sick person repeating the prayers he performed while lying down

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q456: The questioner says: She has been afflicted with an illness for several years, and she was unable to pray except by gesturing with her finger. After her recovery, she made up all the prayers that passed during her illness. She also fell ill with another illness, during which she prayed while sitting, sometimes lying down, and sometimes gesturing with her hand. After she recovered, she made up all the prayers again. Is her action valid or not?
A456: First, the sick person prays according to his condition and does not make up the prayer. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
offer prayer in standing condition; if you are unable to do so, then in sitting condition: if you are then at your sideصلِّ قائمًا، فإن لم تستطع فقاعداً، فإن لم تستطع فعلى جنب
Sunan Abi Dawud 952Sahih (Al-Albani)
meaning: according to your condition. So the sick person prays according to his condition and does not make up this prayer, because he performed it to the best of his ability. And Allah the Exalted says:
So fear Allah as much as you are able and listen and obey and spend [in the way of Allah]; it is better for your selves. And whoever is protected from the stinginess of his soul - it is those who will be the successful.
[At-Taghabun 64:16]

He prays it standing, or sitting, or lying down, and he gestures with his head for the bowing and prostration. As for gesturing with the finger, this has no basis in the Shari'ah, and she is considered to have been negligent. So the fact that she made up the prayer is the truth and what is obligatory upon her, because she did not pray; she gestured with her hand or finger, and this is not sufficient and is not considered prayer. However, if she was bowing and prostrating because she was unable to do otherwise, then her prayer is valid and she owes no make-up.
