A patient with epilepsy who takes medication continuously during the day

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The eleventh question from Fatwa number ( 20628 )
Q11: My brother is 13 years old and suffers from epilepsy. He has a treatment that he uses three times a day. How does he fast , and is a fidyah paid on his behalf, especially when fasting becomes obligatory for him?
A11: If your brother has reached puberty by one of the signs of puberty, such as the emission of semen, the growth of coarse hair around the private parts, or reaching the age of fifteen, then fasting is obligatory for him. If he is unable to fast due to his illness, and if this illness he suffers from is not expected to be cured, then he breaks his fast and feeds one poor person for every day
he fasts, a poor person for each poor person half a kilo of wheat or rice or the like of what the people of the country eat as their staple food. If it is expected that he will be cured, then he breaks his fast, and when his illness is gone, he makes up the days he did not fast during his illness, and there is no expiation for him in that. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
