Conditions for the Validity of Stoning the Pillars
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 16842 )
Q3: My aunt performed Hajj last year, but when stoning the pillars, she said: When she throws, she cannot see where the pebble lands due to the heavy crowd , whether it is in the basin or not, knowing that she sometimes saw the pillar while throwing. What is required of her? Please issue a ruling, may you be rewarded.
A3 : One of the conditions for the validity of stoning the pillars is the certainty that the pebble landed in the target area. If she was certain that it landed in the basin at the time of throwing and then doubted it afterwards, the doubt has no effect and her stoning is valid. If she was doubtful and did not become certain that the pebble landed at the time of throwing, she must pay the expiation with a sacrificial animal slaughtered for the poor of the Haram. If she cannot afford it, she must fast for ten days. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
