I went to Hajj, and when it came to stoning the pillars, I was unable to stone them due to the crowd, so I appointed my brother to perform all the stoning. What is your opinion on this?

The questioner : In her last question, she says: O honorable Shaykh, I went to Hajj, and at the pillars, I was unable to stone them due to the severe crowding, so I appointed my brother to perform all the stoning of the three pillars on my behalf. What is your opinion on this?

The Shaykh : Our opinion is that if she is unable to stone them herself,

The questioner : Yes.

The Shaykh : whether due to her illness, or because she is pregnant, or because she is lame and unable to walk to the pillars or to hire someone to carry her there, then she may appoint a proxy. However, if there is no valid excuse, it is not permissible for her to appoint a proxy, because the stoning of the pillars is among the rites of Hajj and a part of its components. And Allah the Exalted said:
And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allah وأتموا الحج والعمرة لله
[Al-Baqarah 2:196]
And completing the stoning is part of completing the Hajj. As for the issue of crowding, it is possible to get rid of it by delaying the stoning from the day to the night. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you.
