Defining Sincerity and How to Achieve It

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q217: The questioner says: Sincerity is a fundamental requirement in all deeds. How can a person be aware of this sincerity? And how can he apply it in his life?
A217: Sincerity is to make one’s intention pure for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), and to make one’s worship pure for Allah (Mighty and Majestic), without any showing off, seeking fame, or intending anything other than Allah (Mighty and Majestic). One makes the deed pure for Allah, so he does not call upon anyone but Allah, and he does not prostrate or bow except to Allah, and he does not slaughter or make vows except for Allah (Mighty and Majestic). He singles out Allah with all types of worship. This is sincerity.
