Sincerity for the student of knowledge, for the one who worships Allah, and for the one who assists others in their affairs, is that a person intends by his work the Face of Allah and the Hereafter. He does not intend that people praise him, or that he wants something of this world. Rather, he intends the Face of Allah and the Hereafter.And a person assists himself in this by saying to himself: What benefit is there if people know of the worship, or if they praise me? What benefits me? Nothing benefits except Allah, Mighty and Majestic. Whenever a person finds in himself showing off, let him seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Shaytan, for showing off is from the work of Shaytan.
