Conditions of Zakah
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 19078 )
Q2: A man has fifty thousand with me, which is the remaining value of the house I bought. When I gathered the remaining fifty thousand, he asked me for a check in his name for the fifty thousand. The money is in the bank and has not been held for a year. He said: I will
transfer it to you, and because the money in the bank has been there for more than a year. Question: Is the zakah on me or on the owner of the house? This, and peace be upon you.
A2: If you transferred the amount to the creditor before the completion of the lunar year of your possession of it, then zakah is not obligatory on you; because one of the conditions of zakah is the completion of the lunar year, and it exited your ownership before the completion of the lunar year. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
