Zakah on money deposited with a merchant who then went bankrupt

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q4: For the purpose of investment, I paid (240,000 riyals) to a manufacturer for (12 refrigerators × 20,000 = 240,000 riyals). One week after paying the amount at his office in Riyadh , he declared bankruptcy. This was in the year 1414 AH, and I have heard nothing about him for six years. I also participated in Riyadh in a land trade in the year 1414 AH, with a real estate and land office, and paid the amount of (30,000 riyals), but I have not benefited from these
amounts at all. For (6 years) they have been frozen. Will these amounts be returned to me or not? How should I pay the zakah on these amounts? Is it after the amount is returned and a full lunar year has passed, or for the entire duration of the period?

A4 : If the situation is as you described, then it is not obligatory for you to pay zakah on these funds until you receive them and a new lunar year passes with them; because the first amount is with a bankrupt person, and the second, you do not know whether it will be returned to you or not? And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
