Q8: A man has an amount of (30,000) thirty thousand
riyals, and he takes from it at intervals, and after a year of saving he found an amount of (5000) five thousand riyals from this amount. Is zakah due on it ?
A8: Yes, zakah is obligatory on this mentioned wealth, and it is one quarter of a tenth (2.5%) if a lunar year has passed and it is with you, because it has reached the nisab (minimum threshold) for which zakah is obligatory. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
