Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15067 )
Q: 1- Is it permissible to give a sick person seeking assistance from
the Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and other disbelieving religions: A- from zakah, B- from voluntary charity, C- from Muslim donations, D- from the profits that come into the fund from the House of Financing (the Islamic bank in Kuwait ) through the passage of a year over the donors' funds of charity and gifts? A general question. 2- The same question as before, with the addition that the fund has a mutual benefit exchange with some government and private entities. The current example: a patient from the religions mentioned in the first question, who is required to leave the country because he is suffering from a contagious disease, and he is residing in one of the government hospitals, with which the fund has fruitful and constructive cooperation. Is it permissible to assist him through the donations mentioned in the first question (A, B, C, D)? 3- And is it permissible to assist him with a travel ticket that is usually granted to the fund free of charge annually by the Kuwaiti airline company?

A : It is permissible to give a disbeliever seeking assistance, such as a Christian or a Buddhist, from voluntary charity and donations, but it is not permissible to give them from zakah; for what is established in the hadith of Mu'adh (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
which would be collected from the wealthy amongst them and distributed to their needy onesتؤخذ من أغنيائهم فترد على فقرائهم
Sahih Muslim 19c
.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
