Charity on behalf of another person with their money
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of Fatwa No. ( 11030 )
Q3: A female customer took a collection of fabrics from me, and I have a balance of 25 riyals remaining with me. She did not return to us, and since her land is far away, I waited for her for two years and she did not come back. I have given this amount in charity to a deserving recipient on her behalf. Does this suffice, or what should I do? I hope for your guidance.
A3: If the situation is as you described, there is nothing wrong with it. However, if she comes to you, inform her of what you did. If she is pleased, praise be to Allah. Otherwise, pay her twenty-five riyals, and the reward of the charity will be for you. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
