Leaving the making up of fasts missed due to post-natal bleeding out of ignorance

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 16420 )
Q1: A woman did not fast the month of Ramadan twice – that is, she did not fast
for two months – and that was due to post-natal bleeding in both instances. That was approximately fifteen years ago, because she did not know that making up the fasts was obligatory upon her. What is obligatory upon her now? It is known that she is unable to fast due to illness
?

A1: If her illness is expected to be cured, it is obligatory for her, after Allah cures her of her illness, to hasten to make up the two months mentioned in order, along with paying an expiation for the delay by feeding one poor person for each day. If the illness she currently has is not expected to be cured, she must feed one poor person for each day in place of fasting, and she must also pay an expiation for each day of the two months as mentioned previously, due to delaying the making up of the fasts beyond their proper time. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
