Fatwa number ( 20987 )
Q: I deposited a sum of 500 riyals with the grocer so that my children could take their daily necessities from him, and the children now take their needs from the grocery store, and the grocer deducts from the aforementioned amount. What is the ruling on this?
A: There is no harm in the transaction mentioned; because what is given to the grocer is a trust with him, and its owner has authorized him to deduct from it whenever his children buy from him what they need. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
