A grocery store selling foodstuffs and sweets, and I know for certain that this store is from a forbidden source; is it permissible for me to buy from this store?

The questioner : There is a grocery store selling foodstuffs and sweets, and I know for certain that this store is from a forbidden source. Is it permissible for me to buy from this store? Is it correct for me to advise the general public not to buy from that shop? And what is the ruling if it is necessary to buy from that store? May Allah reward you with good.
The Shaykh : There is no blame on you for buying from this store, even if its owner established it from a forbidden source. This is because the transaction taking place between you and him is a permissible transaction. It is established that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) bought food from a Jew for his family and pledged his armor as collateral. He died (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) while his armor was still pledged with this Jew. Also, he (peace and blessings be upon him) accepted a gift from the Jews and accepted their invitation when a Jew invited him to bread made of barley and a stew of dried meat. However, if you find another grocery store whose source is free from doubt, that is better.
The questioner : May Allah bless you.
