Q2: A man placed a sum of money with a merchant. This man sells bags of rice on credit. When someone who wants to buy on credit comes to the owner of the money, they agree on the price, and he sends him to this merchant to give him his order.
Is this permissible or not? And a man sells bags of rice on credit such that when someone who wants to buy on credit comes to him, he agrees with him on the price and goes and buys for him what he wants. Is this permissible?
A2: It is not permissible to sell rice or anything else until one has taken full possession of it and it is in one's custody; based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):Sunan Ibn Majah 2187Hasan (Darussalam) . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
