Q1: Is it permissible to name the child after his father if the father is still alive ? For example, the father is named Ali, and the child is also named Ali?
A1: The father should name his son well, and the name should distinguish him when he is called among people. However, if the father names his son with his own name and this distinguishes him, then it is permissible. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
