The questioner : Also, he asks, saying: Is it permissible to take risks with one's life or to endanger oneself, as we currently see in some types of extreme sports that may lead the practitioner to death?

The Shaykh : This is forbidden, and it is not permissible for a person to endanger himself in what is feared to cause destruction or harm, because Allah the Exalted says:
And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful. وَلا تَقْتُلُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ إِنَّ اللَّهَ كَانَ بِكُمْ رَحِيمًا
[An-Nisa 4:29]
And since Allah the Exalted prohibited that, He said:
And do not kill yourselves [or one another] وَلَا تَقْتُلُوا أَنفُسَكُمْ
[An-Nisa 4:29]
Therefore, anything that leads to death or also leads to harm is forbidden. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Your blood, your properties, and your honor are sacred to one another إن دماءكم وأموالكم وأعراضكم عليكم حرام
Sahih al-Bukhari 1739
Just as it is not permissible for a person to transgress against others, it is not permissible for him to transgress against himself by exposing himself to what involves destruction or harm.
