Combining sheep and goats in zakah

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 17903 )
Q: If a person has, for example, fifty sheep and also fifty goats, and they all graze together and come together, what is the amount of the nisab? Are they combined, or is the nisab calculated for the goats and the nisab for the sheep? And if he has, for example, 120 goats and fifty sheep, what is
the amount of zakah due on them?

A: The nisab for sheep is forty sheep, and one sheep is due in them according to the value of the two types of wealth, if some are sheep and some are goats, until they reach one hundred and twenty-one sheep, in which case two sheep are due according to the value of the two types of wealth as well. This is by the consensus of the scholars. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
