Is it permissible for a woman to visit the cemetery?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 17453 )
Q 2: Is it permissible for a woman to visit the cemetery?
A 2: It is not permissible for a woman to visit the graves; because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cursed those who visit the graves, and because there is a fear of fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) occurring if she visits the graves, and of distress and wailing appearing from her. As for men, it is a recommended practice (sunnah) for them to visit the graves if it is done in the prescribed manner, by greeting the dead, making du'a' (supplication) for them, and taking a lesson from the state of the dead. However, if the intention is to seek blessing from the dead or to call upon them, then this is an innovated visit of shirk (associating partners with Allah) that is not permissible for men or women. And as for visiting the graves to make du'a' (supplication) at them or to recite the Qur'an at them, it is an innovated visit and a means of shirk (associating partners with Allah).
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
