The first question of Fatwa No. ( 17856 )
Q1: Regarding the Shaf' and Witr that are prayed after the 'Isha' prayer, is the Shaf' here equivalent to the rawatib sunnah after 'Isha', or not?
A1: The Shaf' is two rak'ahs before the Witr, and they are not the two rawatib rak'ahs after 'Isha'; because the rawatib is an independent voluntary prayer, and the Shaf' and Witr are another voluntary prayer. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
