The first question of Fatwa No. ( 20815 )
Q1: Is there a distinction in the Qunut supplication in Ramadan , meaning does the imam supplicate once or twice in a single night of Ramadan, either in the first ten, the second ten, or the last ten? And is it according to the practice of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and his Companions, or what is done in Madinah and in Makkah , the capital of mosques, as well as in Riyadh ? If it is authentic that it is done once or twice in Ramadan, I ask for clarification for the Muslim community in every mosque, whether large or small?
A1: The Qunut supplication in the Witr is recommended, based on the hadith of al-Hasan ibn 'Ali (may Allah be pleased with them both), who said:Mishkat al-Masabih 1273 It was narrated by the people of the Sunan. If a Muslim occasionally omits this supplication and occasionally performs it, there is no blame on him, whether in Ramadan or otherwise.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

God’s Messenger taught me some words to say when standing in supplication during the witr . They were, “O God, guide me among those Thou hast guided, grant me security among those Thou hast granted security, take me into Thy charge among those Thou hast taken into Thy charge, bless me in what Thou hast given, guard me from the evil of what Thou hast decreed, for Thou dost decree and nothing is decreed for Thee. He whom Thou befriendest is not humbled. Blessed and exalted art Thou, our Lord.”
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
