Intercourse with one's wife during the day in Ramadan
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: I wasmy husband and I were traveling fromJeddahtoBishaon one day
Ramadan, and my husband forced me to have intercourse when we arrived , knowing that we were fasting on that day. What is the ruling on this?
A2: If the city where the intercourse took place is a city of residence that cuts off the rulings of travel, such as your permanent city of residence or any other place where you intend to stay for more than four days, then each of you owes the expiation for intercourse during the day in Ramadan. If the city is not a city of residence for you, then you owe no expiation and there is no blame on you, but you must make up the day on which the intercourse occurred; because the sick person and the traveler are permitted to break their fast through intercourse and other means, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:185].
