The seventh question of the fatwa number ( 19283 )
Q 7: What is the ruling for one who prayed the obligatory prayer alone, then the congregation was established for the same obligatory prayer , is it permissible for him to repeat his prayer with them as a congregation to gain its reward?
A 7: If one enters the prayer alone and then the congregation is established, it is recommended for him to convert his prayer to a voluntary prayer and conclude it, then pray the obligatory prayer with the congregation. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
