Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of Fatwa No. ( 18173 )
Q2: When I prepare for the ghusl for janabah, and my hair is dried with a hair dryer, and during the ghusl (i.e., from janabah) I only wipe my head. Is that permissible or not? Knowing that when I take a ghusl from menstruation, I undo my hair and wash it completely, what is the ruling of the Shari'ah?
Vol. 2 : It is obligatory for a woman to wash her head when performing the full ritual bath from major ritual impurity, by saturating the outer and inner parts of her hair with water. However, it is not obligatory to undo her braids, in order to avoid the hardship involved in doing so; this is based on what is established in (Sahih Muslim )
It was narrated from Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her) that she said: O Messenger of Allah, I tie my hair tightly, so should I undo it for the ghusl from janabah? He said: It is sufficient for you to throw water over your head three times, then let it flow over you, and you will be purified.
. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
