The fourth question of the fatwa numbered ( 19673 )
Q 4: If we are residing in a town and it is the time of spring, and we go out as shepherds on a Friday, and our location is not less than one hundred and twenty kilometers from the town , and we are approximately five men, do we pray the midday prayer as four rak'ahs or only two?
A 4: As long as the situation is as you described, you should pray the midday prayer shortened with the intention of the midday prayer, and the Friday prayer is not obligatory upon you; because you are travelers, it is not obligatory for you as long as you are considered travelers. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
