Q: I would like to attend the Friday prayer to receive its reward, but whenever I go to attend the prayer and listen to the two sermons, I am unable to do so because of the illness . I experience nervous tension, anger, and anxiety, and my heart begins to palpitate rapidly, followed by seizures and weakness. Am I excused from attending the Friday prayer and can I pray at home without sin?
A: If the situation is as you described, then attending the Friday prayer is dropped from you, and you should pray the Dhuhr prayer at home, consisting of four rak'ahs. Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Baqarah 2:286] , and He said: [At-Taghabun 64:16] . We hope that Allah will record for you the reward of attendance as long as you are eager for it, but your excuse has prevented you.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
