The Praying Alone
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa No. ( 17488 )
Q: I hope you will clarify whether a person who prays alone, even in his home,
has the right to call the adhan, then the iqamah, and then pray ?
A: It is obligatory for the Muslim to pray the five obligatory prayers in congregation in the mosque. If a valid legal excuse prevents him from doing so, it is permissible for him to pray them in his home. If he prays them alone, he should suffice with the iqamah for them and not call the adhan. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
